The Bioengineering department (BIOE), located in Building 7, was established in September 2020. The BIOE department offers a four-year Bachelor of Science program in Bioengineering (BS-BIOE), which is the first and only of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Also, the BIOE department offers master and PhD programs in Bioengineering (MS-BIOE, PhD-BIOE).
The BIOE department is staffed by 15 full-time faculty members (12 Professorial-rank, 1 Lecturer, 2 Graduate Assistants), and 6 full-time staff members (5 Lab Technicians, and 1 Admin Assistant), to support all activities related to teaching and research. Due to the nature of this program, our faculty members have diverse expertise in microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, biomaterials, biomedical, and biomechanics.
The aim of the department is to provide students with an interdisciplinary education and skills to meet the growing demands in the field of bioengineering.

In addition, to provide a digital foundation for programs to drive forward knowledge and to establish strategic collaborations with entities in research, industry and business.
