Dr. Khan holds a Ph.D. specializing in the application of advanced oxidation and biological treatment processes for contaminated waters. His career spans in environmental science and engineering, with experience in industrial, governmental, and research settings.
He worked with Canada’s Department of National Defense, conducting quality management assessments of drinking water and wastewater treatment plants, as well as bioremediation of contaminated groundwater and soil within Canadian Armed Force bases. At Stantec, he contributed to municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plant upgrades, ensuring compliance with provincial regulations. While serving at the Government of Alberta, he provided operational assistance to over 120 drinking water treatment plants across Central Alberta.
Dr. Khan's research and professional interests focus on developing nature-based biological solutions for environmental challenges, particularly in water and wastewater treatment.
