With the Department of National Defense, Canada, he worked on quality management assessment of drinking water and wastewater treatment plants and bioremediation of contaminated groundwater and soil landforms within Canadian Armed Force Bases. At Stantec, Dr. Khan worked on various drinking water and municipal/industrial wastewater treatment plant upgrade projects with the scope of bringing them in compliance with provincial guidelines. At the Government of Alberta, he was responsible for the operational assistance of more than 120 drinking water plants in Central Alberta. Dr. Khan is interested in finding solutions to environmental problems using nature-based biological processes.
