Dr. Mohammed A. Al-masni received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Kyung Hee University, South Korea, in 2019. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Al-masni’s professional experience spans both academia and industry. From 2015 to 2018, he worked as a Software Developer at the R&D Center of B.M.Tech Worldwide Co., Ltd., South Korea, contributing to the development of medical DXA imaging solutions. From 2019 to 2022, he served as a Postdoctoral Researcher and subsequently as a Research Professor at Yonsei University, where he conducted research in artificial intelligence and medical imaging. From 2022 to 2026, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Sejong University, Seoul, South Korea.
His research focuses on artificial intelligence and deep learning for medical image analysis and computer-aided diagnosis. His research interests include MRI motion artifact correction, medical image segmentation, meta-learning for noisy labels and data scarcity, and MRI-CT and CT-CBCT cross-modality medical image registration and synthesis.
Dr. Al-masni is an active member of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) and serves as a member of its Annual Meeting Program Committee (2024–2027). He is also an Organizing Committee Member for MICCAI 2026 and 2027. In recognition of his research impact, he was included among the world’s top 2% of scientists in the Stanford–Elsevier global citation rankings in 2024 and 2025.
