Dr. Anwarul Hasan is a Professor of Bioengineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia, and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alberta, Canada. He previously served at Qatar University, the American University of Beirut, and as a visiting faculty member at Harvard Medical School, with postdoctoral research at MIT and Harvard under the NSERC Fellowship. He earned his PhD from the University of Alberta in 2010. Recognized among the world’s top 50 biomedical engineering researchers (2024) and recipient of Clarivate/Web of Science’s Highly Cited Researcher award for 2023–2025, Dr. Hasan has published over 350 peer-reviewed works, including 300+ journal papers, and won more than sixteen national and international awards. His research spans biomaterials, tissue engineering, 3D bioprinting, diabetic wound healing, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and the application of machine learning and AI, supported by over seven million USD in research funding from organizations such as the Qatar Foundation, NATO, and Saudi funding agencies.
